Solid washer bottle + pump
« on: July 03, 2009, 01:02:13 PM »
I've got a bag and the finger operated pump at the moment, which is idiot proof tbh but is a right pain to try and use whilst driving. Did the later cars have an electric pump with a solid bottle or does it still use the bag? If not, has anyone changed to electric washer jets and what setup do you have?

Cheers dudes and dudettes!

Some later cars were fitted with a flexible bag with a pump fitted at the bottom, I know because Mick threw one at me when he told me to *iss off & never darken his door again
All I did was stroke his pussy
Mind you he does wear it on his head  ;D
Anyway that little bit of kit you have is a part of Fiat history that goes back to the 50s & is all part of the driving experience  [-/

the old uno's and possibly the old pandas used the flexible bag with a built in pump. I used one on my 500,  it's a dead easy conversion :)

You're such a spoilsport RU, I know it's classic Fiat but it bugs me :p

Cheers for that Chris, I thought the Mk1 Panda had a bag as well but wasn't sure if it had the built in pump or if it was hand operated as well. I'll have a nosey around  [-/

The bis had, like unc said, the same bag but with a motor attached.
the most inovative windscreen washing system ive ever seen is the original beetles... i was fascinated when they told me that the bottle is connected to the spare tyre, and the tyre pressure was used to push the liquid, its simply genious! why didnt fiat think of that??

 Is that why you used to see all those VWs at the roadside with flat tyres & very clean screens. You just reminded me that I think I have a couple of old floor mounting foot opperated washer pumps. Also how many people here remember when the dip switch was also on the floor  :D
