The 2009 UK (Inter) National MicroCar Rally
The 35th Annual NMCR will be a 4-day event, and will be organised by the duo of Jim Jamieson  and Terry Parkin
who previously together organised the successful 2007 event.

The event will be run under The Micro Maniacs banner to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the founding of the Micro Maniacs, now the largest multi-make microcar club in UK.

The dates to mark in red in your diary are Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th September 2009 and our venue is Ripon Racecourse – known as The Garden Racecourse – in the picturesque and popular Yorkshire Dales.
On the racecourse rally field there is a large brick building which we will have sole use of , which contains toilets, showers, light and heat, and is large enough for our usual let-your-hair-down evening entertainment.

There's also a large covered verandah which will be our venue for outdoor happenings and gatherings.
Ripon Racecourse is only about 5 miles from junction 48 of the A1M and so is easily accessible from all parts of the country. Ripon itself is about a mile away so shopping for provisions will be easy for event visitors.

Our provisional event schedule for you is …

Thursday 3rd –      Arrive and set-up; there will be a list of local attractions for you to
                              choose to visit.
In the evening there will be a leisurely road run to local restaurant.

Friday 4th –          â€œThe Full Monte“ - Scenic Road-Run of about 55 miles through the
                              scenic Yorkshire Dales.
avoiding major roads and heavy traffic ; choice of recommended stop-offs .
Followed by social evening in Bar-room with film show and other entertainment.

Saturday 5th –       Gentle Road Run of approx 25 miles avoiding major roads and heavy
traffic to one of the area’s
most spectacular attractions. Free parking , café, picnic area,
                               Evening entertainment in bar-room.
                               Maniacs Quiz – “ Let’s Get Quizzical “
                               Plus other attractions

Sunday 6th –          Display of microcars, field games, Club and Trade stands.
                               Prize giving and Awards

Plus other attractions to be announced later.
