Kingpin renewal
« on: June 04, 2009, 06:54:35 PM »
Hello fellow 500'ers

I have a set of genuine Fiat workshop tools for renovating the steering hub kingpin sets on 500/126's :-

74056  Remover and installer, knuckle pillar and leaf spring bonded rubber bushings
74106  Remover and installer, knuckle pillar bushings
90316  Reamer, knuckle pillar bushings

With an engineering background I have always undertaken this work on our own and local friends 500/126's, if anyone fancies a less expensive enthusiast solution than exchange units?  [-/
Regards.

Hey guys it all depends what you want doing...But my thoughts are:-

Sending or bringing the units to me has got to be less expensive than me coming to you and doing the whole removal, renovate and replacement task?? We use a courier service at work that charges about £10 national UK delivery upto 25kgs... ;)

Ebay 500 exchange units are £120 plus £25.00 carriage (delivery and old units return) = £145.00 total (with no extended downtime, as job is simply a swop over)

If you supply the King Pin Bush Kit with your old units I will charge £40 including return post....(with anticipated downtime of about 2 weeks)

If I supply the kit I will charge £105 including return post...

However, if you need someone to do the whole removal and repair job we would need to have a chat... [-/

Regards

Ohhhhhhh just to add...any payment will help fund a floorpan renewal and respray on our Giard....Not a lavish lifestyle and champagne crates!! [-/

Chip the kit I was looking at:-

 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/King-Pin-Bush-Kit-Fiat-500-126_W0QQitemZ380056837142QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item587d271c16&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A30

Thats £55 plus the £9.50 p&p to me...  ::)

This includes both of the steering knuckle top rubber bushes which have to be removed to allow removal and replacement of old kingpin bushes....

However, if you can advise where the kits are £15 and include the rubber bushes I would appreciate that...and I am always happy to accept more money donated to the refurb!!... :D
