Hello,
This car is in Penzance, so please think carefully before entering into anything, even to view. Most people are surprised at how far down the line PZ actually is. For instance, you have another 2 hours to go at legal speeds once you get to exeter! I work in Iraq but you could view the car by arrangement.
Anyway, I recently bought a BIS ('88 on an E Reg). I had it checked out at our local Fiat Specialist and ended up shelling out a fair amount having the brakes rebuilt. There is still a rattle from the engine compartment which I thought was the exhaust but the specialist thinks not (although he could not tell me what it actually is!). They did say it was nothing serious so far as they can tell.
The reason I bought the BIS is my Wife wanted something 'really small' to return to driving, as se was not confident at all. The BIS seemed to fit the bill. Since then we have changed our family car for a Mitsubishi Pinin which my wife thinks she can handle so the BIS has to go.
The paperwork is back in the UK so I do not have it on me. I am pretty sure it has over 10 months MOT and I think it has 5 months tax. It is reddy-orange and from what I can see is pretty standard. There is a piece of trim missing from the rear wing at sill height for which I have bought a replacement, hopefully it is the right part! The driver's door has had a fairly poor repair (could do with a skin), but it all seems to work fine.
It is such a giggle to drive and really good for small journeys, however if you are over 5' 1" the standard seats will probably not suit for longer journeys.
Any BIS would-be owners in the Cornwall area? It would probably be worth a look, I would say, although this car is never going to be perfect.
Richie
