Aluminium cooling fan?
« on: May 06, 2009, 10:31:49 PM »
Is there anyone out there with one of these on they car? If so does it make any difference?
I wanted to get one of these, but I`m not sure if it would be any quieter. The standard fan drives me nuts. I think is the loudest part of the engine.

From what I have been lead to understand they are not as efficient, I think most of the guys that race 500's in Europe use the metal ones I'm not sure why yours is so noisy but it could be that the pressings where they join together are starting to fall apart.

I would go for a new metal one, possibly getting it balanced, over a cast one.
