Hi from Slough
« on: March 31, 2009, 01:33:13 PM »
Hi all

Just thought I would introduce myself and a recent purchase...Oliver

White BIS - Watercooled J reg. Inside seems ok - driver side chair worn..

This is my first 126 BIS - having got this car would be greatful for some pointer or details on how to do the following..would love some advice and help..

1. Charge Carbs (hear i can get better performance, fuel economy and not as rich mixture - not sure though?)  :-

2. Get a nicer exhaust (wud like to make sound deeper and throaty, currently soundys rattly and a bit phut, phut...no movement from exhaust detected.)

3. Get wider wheels/alloys - (not sure what i can or cannot use- don't fancy spending huge moneys on new alloys, rear wheels curve inward from bottom of tyres- am told this is normal?) - does anyone have anything i can purchase?  ;)

4. Get front brake dics for the car (is this easy enough to do for the layman?)

I am okay for being able to basic service to the car etc...but will be learning on how to do stuff as i go along..unless someone is happy to teach??

Thanks in advance for any help or pointers.

Cheers

PS: Does anyone live near me that may be bale to suggest good parts place and good mechanic that might do some stuff? London is good for me and live in Slough.

Hy there. I believe this car was owned by a forum member (paul), it has all the stuff, but it seems that the alloys he had were removed...
Dont know about much of your questions... i only know you can fit alloys 5j (5" wide), 4*98 PCD, on it no problem, tires 155/65 or 165/55...

I may have some Seicento Sporting (165/55 13"x5.5J) alloys going soon, but am obviously based about as far away as I could be for an easy sale ;)

Well, not as far as Gordan ... but still pretty far ;D
