fixing rear camber without lowering? any ideas?
« on: March 20, 2009, 09:27:29 AM »
basically my rear tires are badly worn at the outsides after only a few thousand kms, and my exhaust already scrapes on the road if i reverse out of my driveway at anything more than a walking pace, so i dont really want it to be lower, but i do want my tires to last longer.. can anyone suggest a method of fixing the camber without lowering the car? i cant weld either..
I havnt actually looked at it yet, but could it be possible to space out the bottom of the housing for the wheel bearings but not the top? making the whole lot tilt up? or is that a bad idea? it'd make the tension on the bolts uneven probably.. and if the flexible joints dont rub on the wishbones..

hello, the tyre wear sounds odd....in standard form the 126 or 500 wont chew thro tyres that quickly.....is the toe in toe out correct?.....are the rear springs the correct ones? id check the camber/toein/toe out to the book before thinking of modifying anything  [-/

everything is stock standard.. usually cars have positive camber to match the curve in the road, but our roads arent as curvy as the camber of my wheels..

have you looked at the mcphereson strut rubbers on the rear as they tend to fall apart with time and can cause your tyres to wear like this any banging noises coming from them when you drive is a normal indicator
