Hello all introducing hugo
« on: March 17, 2009, 03:45:06 PM »
Hello everyone I recently found a red 1990 126 bis on ebay and hit the watch item button. The next thing i know the girlfriend had taken a look at my watch items and fallen in love woth it and decided to call it Hugo. So a nerve wracking auction end and £200 (plus £60 for delivery from hull to lincoln) later we took delivery of him.

Pictures of him are on the girlfriends flickr site below. including the original ebay pictures.

The car has seen better days and the bodywork needs a good helping of tlc but the floor is nice and solid with what looks like quite a few fresh-ish welds in it. We put a battery on it and with a jump from my cinquecento it roared into life and ran fine till it drank all its petrol. The brakes however are almost non-existent so i will be giving it a good service this weekend and looking at them to see if i can get them to work properly.

The plans for it are to get it M.O.T'd and taxed cheaply then sort out the scabby bits maybe try my hand at a home-brew re-spray as i have been wanting to learn the ropes and then it will be used for road rallies and slowly turned into a cheap stage rally car.

This site is great and I'm looking forward to becoming a part of the community.

Ed.

(-* Looks like your fun is just about to start so good luck. Brake parts are as cheap as chips if you keep a look out on eBay. As a Cinque owner you can use the same calipers & do a disc brake conversion on the front end with the right adaptor plates. I guess a large part of that delivery charge was a local tax for hauling a rusty Fiat over the Humber Bridge  </4 </8 </4

yeah I'm pretty sure it was.  I was looking through the site and noticed a few people have been doing the disc conversion. Has anyone made the adapter themselves? is there a template at all?

Hi welcome, good luck with the car. Are you the person flashing his arse at the poor little 126 in picture 5 ?
