Yipeeee, another baby fiat is in the family 
Sadly its not another 126 but a 900cc, Racing Red 1994 FIAT Cinquecento  Its my bros, theres some work on the car to be done, and there's something very wrong with the brakes, as soon as you push the pedal it starts braking hard, that cant bi right can it 
On the serious side what needs to be done: new handbrake cable, new front left wing, new back seats, new back fender, A LOT OF POLISHING, and we intend to put all of the sporting stuff on it... Just haven't figured the name for her yet  Pics of the F.i.r.e. Duo tommorow

Na, the way i see it, im going to drive it every now and then to save my BIS, and most of the time there are a few mates and matets on board, and they usually need something to sit on 
Mate, you cant have all the fiat models at once... ...or can you...

Also (sorry to hijack your thread Gordan) but is an 899cc transplant an easy job? I'm sure I read somewhere that it wasn't worth the hassle for the sake of only a few extra (admittedly pedigreed Italian) horses?

Not an easy exchange but plenty of people do it at home with very few tools, so not impossable by any means. I have driven a 900 conversion and i was really impressed, the care was a real pile of Cr*P too and falling to bits so a deceng job should be very impressive.

I doubt the engine swap is a easy job, and it has no alloys (yet )
we are going for the identical look to the 126, red car, white alloys, and a few stylish add-ons  
The 899cc are amazingly quick and i don't know the word... something like naughty  
Anyway, its going apart tomorrow, for some thorough cleaning  

@Eklipze3k with those 3 you would have to get a old 500... and a topo wouldnt be bad either

how much did your brother paid for 900?
wasn't it worth to look for a sporting in the first place? 900s are quick in the city but weak overtakers on the roadtrip specially with some mates on bord. i now cos my firend has a sei 900 and i used it some time
but brothers look nice together by the way...

He paid 3000kuna which is about 400 euro, standard Sporting price over here is 2000€+, so you see why he bought this one, and it was his mates, it has a real solid engine, no problems whatsoever, but it was hit by a other car from the right back side and repaired, but the back seat wasnt fixed (the metal that holds it to the car is broken, so we think about getting a new one) the car is in not the best nick, but for such a small amount we could only buy lets say a yugo, or some other crappy car, and with some 200€ invested its going to kick ass 

as for the overtaking, not a problem, the car is going to be used by my bro only in rain for trips round town (he is buying himself a gilera nexus  ) and since summer is coming up guess who will drive it when its not raining  ,  and i almost newer go out of town...  [-/

one question for anyone who knows: How in the world do you remove the gearshift knob??? just turn or pull or what? Im afraid of breaking it but have to remove it. (im talking about the cinq, but im sure its all the same...)

In short, they don't...

Hacksaw is the only way and to fit a 3rd party one you need a mounting adaptor which OMP no longer make.

Edit: Why do you need to remove it?
