hi there , great forum , i have a fiat 126 bis . and a set of cinqucento alloys ..what do i need to enable me to fit them as standard to my bis ?

longer wheel nuts ?? if so where from and how much ?

spacers

?? ..

anyhelp would be great

shud go straight on?? providing your tyres are no bigger than 165/55/13... (i think?)

i have this problem with my x19 alloys.. so ill need new tyres as mine are 180/65/13.. way too big

Paul is right, max wheel size is 165/55/13, and i do think youll need longer nuts, dk how long, but i need to get myself some of those, cos my alloys are a lot thicker than the stock rim...

Yes i thought of that too, but the alloy wheel is about 1 - 1,5 cm thick? so the screw isnt going as far in as it should?
oh, and im definitely getting myself those you-might-try-to-take-my-alloys-but-its-easier-to-take-the-whole-damn-car screws...

Hi,

I have a bis and a cinq sporting and had a look at this. You can bolt the cinq wheels on with the bis bolts but it wouldn't really be safe because they aren't long enough. And you can't use the cinq bolts because the pitch of the thread is different - they will go in but you should notice within a turn or two that it doesn't feel right. If you carry on you will damage either the bolt or the hub.

I have decided to go for something a bit unusual (and complicated) for the bis in the end, and keep the cinq wheels on the cinq, it is a box shaped car and so needs box shaped wheels.

sorry to throw a spanner in the works but i put cinq alloys on my aircooled 126 ,i used the original 126 bolts and before i had them on a bis i have used them on the cars since 2006 they havent fell off broken or had any problems , i rag my car often i corner like an idiot and generally abuse them ive mounted kerbs at speed spun on roundabouts and jumped the car so i am a little baffled as to why you cannot use the original 126 bolts?

It could be that your bolts are longer than standard, but mine were definately not long enough to fit Cinq alloys to my aircooled and Cinq bolts are no good as I have just found to my expense as they are 1.25 thread pitch and 126 hubs are 1.50 pitch. My previous alloys are much thinner and standar blots work fine with those but Cinq alloys are 15mm thicker at the bolts.

just been out and took one off to measure its 50mm long and has 27mmfrom the start of the bolt to the neck if that gives you any help.

I had the same problem when i fitted my TSW alloys, so i put the standard wheel bolt through the steel wheel and measured what stuck out of the other side. then did the same with the alloys, cut the new longer wheel bolts to the same measurement. on the back i had to use a 5mm spacer so the rear bolts are longer. Its important that the wheel bolts are the correct length cause if there too long they can fowl the brake shoes

yes pete i had this with a vw once and it can be expensive if they are really long as they smash your brakes up a little!!

my 12'' alloys needed longer bolts, standards were catching only 1 turn.
standard are 26 mm i tried 32mm as the method for match bolts with wheels says but they were to long and scratching the brakes so now i use 30 mm
