Finally got a 126!
« on: October 02, 2005, 11:15:33 AM »
After what seems like years of searching :)  I managed to track down a BIS on ebay and bring him/her? back to Belfast from England.  (How many does that make in Nothern Ireland now?)

It's a 1991 J-reg BIS.  Just needs a bit of tidying. Maybe a new drivers door - bit of a dent.  Time to see if any of the local scrap yards still have 126s.  We love the wee car its a ball to drive and everyone says hello.  Even had a guy take a photo of us on the street in Dublin! :???:

Overall the car is in pretty good condition.  We did 500miles to get from England via north Wales which was fun.  The paintwork is still shiney and original, just one rust patch on the front wing and a dent over in the driver's door which will need fixing.  Been some welding under the spare wheel and gearbox mounting but sills and stuff are good.

Want to give it a service and a good check over.  Then maybe I quite fancy the clear Polish front indicator lenses if I can find some on ebay or somewhere.

The joys of 126 ownership!  Woohoo!!

That's cool Paul, can't wait to show you the wee dear!  I've got her in the garage here to get rid of some of the oil that sprated everywhere when the really-lose oil filler cap fell off on the way back from Dublin  Hope that's all it is!
