Hello there chaps! (new Aussie member)
« on: October 18, 2008, 08:59:17 AM »
Hi everybody,

About 6 months ago I bought myself a 1991 FSM Niki. Red in colour, about 90,000 on the clock, and no rust to speak of. She was previously owned by a Reverend, and managed the 150km drive back home without fault, so after an oil change/general service, I put Niki into daily use, driving her to work each day for a couple of months.

Then, I purchased a new car - an '81 Alfa Romeo Alfetta, which replaced Niki as daily driver. Suffice to say, the Alfa has been occupying my time and money, while the Niki is laid up in the shed, awaiting new kingpins and a new set of tyres.

However, now that the university semester is coming to a close, I can get back to earning money, stop living like a peasant, and most importantly, put the Niki back on the road. It may not have twin camshafts & two carburettors, but it still trumps the hotted-up Alfetta for pure driving fun.

Sorry for the long-winded intro ,

Regards,

Luke

Welcome, and great choice in cars. I didn't realise Italian cars were popular in Oz?

Thanks,

Italian car owners are certainly in the minority down here, although, the  Alfa scene is quite large, with a very supportive club.

Unfortunately I've only ever seen one other Niki on the road

Welcome Brother,

Have you had social with phreak97. He's a top bloke..head of the Adelaide posse.

Then again, unlike England, that's probably about 2000 miles from yourself.

Respect......Normski

welcome:) if you have any niki questions, let me know and ill do my best to answer:)

norm, we havnt spoken as far as i know, melbourne is about 450 miles/725 kilometers away, a bit out of your average niki range (though i've been further), and certainly out of random-encounter range. I've only met three or four other niki drivers in person, and talked to a few more online.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, Niki drivers are a rare breed around here.  I've only met one older fellow at a car show, and then seen the same guy driving around at one point. And that's the extent of my Niki encounters.

Sorry for the late reply, spekol. I'll have a look tonight and see what I can find in my photo archive (on a different computer.)
