The one-off 1949 car was owned by Diana Dors (actress) when she was 17 & before she could drive. 20 foot long & 165bhp. It recently sold at auction for nearly £2 million.

Yes I would love to know more about that Zagato Abarth if it was 500 based and as you say it seems to have been a record breaker. Perhaps it may have been a one off prototype

Yes that is correct . I was a bit naughty working this one in but could not resist it. The poor picture is from is from a two page article by Michael Ware in the January 2008 issue of The Automobile. The car is a 1937 Talbot Ten Sports Saloon. It is one of 12 known to still exist in the UK . not any old car , it is my old car  
I bought the car in 1976 from an old mate. It had been in his back garden for about 5 years. Prior to that it had been off the road for about 5 years or more with 3 different owners. It came in "kit" form & I stripped it down to the bare chassis which I hand scrapped , repainted then started a chassis up rebuild. there were many problems to overcome especialy in those pre-internet days. The work went in fits & starts but I eventualy got to the stage where I had a running chassis that I could drive the few yards on my driveway. But the ash framed coachbuilt body finaly beat me, work stopped & I sold the car in 1999. The new owner took it on a millenium project hoping to get it on the road in 2000. It actualy took him about 8 years before it rose to life after about 45 years off the road into the bright lights at the NEC Classic Motor Show  [-/

That's a brilliant story Rusty! I'd love to know what happened to some of my old cars. I've tried to trace my 1953 Riley RME and my 1966 VW Karmann-Ghia type 3, and my lovely home-made Morgan replica, the JBF Boxer.
