hi geoff

did you have any luck finding out about the starter motor?

im on the hunt for a spare, have one on my spares car but cant get the rusted bolts to budge, just wondering if you found a source or a suitable compatible part before posting an identical thread.

Hi elbisto,
email for starter motor man,[email protected]
He wants £78 + £10 postage, seems a lot.Have a go at fixing it yourself it's not as hard as you might think or have another go at getting your spare off.
cheers

well that does seem a little steep

The starter was working fine until a few weeks ago , now nothing. Ill try with the other spare, i know that one is good, trouble is the bolt has now sheared off and is protruding from the block and the bolt that holds on the cover is completely stripped, cant even get it with the mole grips.

If not my mate reckons he can service the dud one and have it working again pretty easily, so if all else fails, ill go down that route.

Cheers for the advice, am trying to fix her without spending any money at all, so itll be a minor miracle if she rides again..watch this space
