i've just bought my 10th car, and theyre not all 126's. i'm sure i'm not the only one with an unreasonable set of cars.
post your whole car list here, including 126's, and which one is your daily driver:) also post cars that dont work!
i'm interested to see if 126 drivers all have common taste in cars.

my list approximately in the order i got them:

1980 mitsubishi sigma (gh)
1979 chrysler regal (cm)
1967/68 morris 1100 (dead)
1979 volkswagen kombi (dead)
1949 fiat topolino
1990 fsm niki (126, daily driver)
1989 fsm niki (dead)
1991 fsm niki (dead)
1960 fiat 500 (d) (dead)
1965 morris 1100 (now happy with a 1275 engine)

aside from my first car, the sigma, everything i get is a bit closer to awesome than your average car, or at least i thinkso:P

now i want to know everybody elses!

You're very fortunate, living in Australia, that you have enough space to keep so many cars. I don't want to speak for every UK member but I would love to have a nice collection of different cars but haven't got the space to keep them.

Here in the SE of England you can pay over Â£100000 for a small studio flat & count yourself lucky if it comes with a residents parking permit which may allow you to park on a street half a mile away.

I'm sure there are some folk lucky enough (or rich enough) to live on farms etc, but i would think the majority of us are in this or a similar situation.

Anyway now I've had my rant about the state of the country i'll list my 2 cars.

1, My beloved 1979 126p.

2, 1996 Renault Clio 1.4 Mk1, (My daily car) chosen because the road tax is a lot cheaper below 1400cc.

i have the space though, so im planning to buy a zastava 750 or a vw beetle (which is now cheaper here than the zastava :shock: ) by the end of the year....

I have to agree with subvert73. I've lived in Kent, Cambridge, Leeds and now Somerset and none of them have been places where car parking is readily available.

Still, public roads are free to park on where we are now, so I count us lucky in that respect.

We have the 1991 126 Bis:

and our family vehicle, a 1990 VW T3 Transporter crewcab:

Both are used regularly; the FIAT around town and the van for days out and long trips.

1989 FSM Niki, basically dead but a goer sort of
1984 6 cyl vk commodore used the same amount of fuel in a day as my niki did in a week
1995 suzuki sierra, heavily modded 4x4 which also is my dd at the moment

At the moment I have the Bis, a 54 plate mondeo ST as my daily drive, and a heavily modified Yamaha R1, which is well on the way to magazine feature spec.

it would be awesome to have the r1 engine, keep the 6 speed box from the bike straight down to a solid rear axle, turning wouldnt be the greatest without a dif but could you imagine the get up and go?

i think theres a video of a 126 bis on youtube that's had something like that done, the engine is bolted where the back seat was and theres a chain drive that goes down through where the engine cover used to be. the guy doesnt give it heaps though, looks like it might be the first time he's driven it like that.

what are the sa regulations like on engie swaps? im looking to swap motors up here in the 4by and theres not a grat deal of red tape involved, what motor options are realistic swaps for these?

in sa you have to declare it and have it inspected, any engine that isnt a straight swap requires an engineer's certificate to say it's safe. theres nothing much bigger than a 650 engine that will fit in a niki and will pass inspection without a certificate. if you want to register it properly then i suggest just modifying the existing engine. kinda depends on your budget though, modifying the 650 is probably more expensive too.
