What's your opinion on the new fiat 500 - A future classic??

Certainly looks appealing although I've never seen one in the flesh.

I think its a cool looking car vith loads of caracter (unlike most new cars), there are quite a few of them here buzzing around, mainly italian plates.
Its main minus is its price, the cheapest costs 11000â‚¬, which i think is too much for a car that small.

i think its a pile of poo, its a modern car and yet again the car manufacturers have made retro mobiles inspired by popular old models.
these cars will be snapped up by trendy middleclassers as was the mini when it came out. sure its nice looking and all that but its too big even though its a small car , the 500 was a true car for people with small incomes and needed very little spent on maintainance (that was fiats plan)... and most importantly the 500 name came from its engine capacity , what relevance does it bear to the modern one bar clever marketing?
i would rather go out and buy the panda as thats all it is but without the practicality .
future classic i would hope they rust and die before they reach that sort of age .

I dont think its such a bad car, dont get me wrong, its no 126 or old 500, and its def not a peoples car (the high price makes it more like a snob car

, but it looks nice, and resembles the one fiat, and i would much rather buy the 500 then the new mini, or the VW new beetle.
and i dont think its too big at all, did you see the boot?? ist smaller than my BIS!

p.s. as i said in my other post, fiat is designing a new tiny peoples car, which will be a lot simpler and cheaper, perhaps this one will suit you better?

i am stuck in the rut of likeing old cars that being old rusty slow noisy and dangerous . new cars dont float my boat what so ever. i drive 126s for the grin factor safe in the knowledge that if i crash i will loose my legs...

I am thinking of getting one as the next company car as it is a fiat and has to be cheaper on car tax than this tank of a passat.
The idea of having little room in the back appeals as mother in laws may not be so keen to ask to be taken here and there.

They claim very good mpg on the diesel one so hopefully it'll mean a saving so I can put the money into my 126! :cool:
