Window Wipers
« on: March 29, 2008, 10:15:49 PM »
Hi Bis Buddies, :D
Just a quick one really, does anyone out there know of any way of customising the window wipers on a 126?
On my way home from work this evening in a torrential downpour, my drivers side wiper proceeded to fly off and stick around the side of my car!
When i had pulled over at a garage for a closer inspection, the stem of the wiper seems to have been crushed in some way not allowing it to work properly. As we all know and can probably have a look at our own wipers there is a nut at the base of the stem - if i unscrew this is it possible just to replace this part? Or will I need to obtain a new wiper rack? Or is there anybody who has customised the wipers off a Cinquecento or a Punto and done it succesfully? There are a few of these in my local scrap yard.
All info is greatly appreciated.
If i cant sort this im on the look out for a new wiper rack to sort this minor hiccup......
Cheers Scouse

you should be able to just replace the shaft if there is'nt any other damage
