whats the simple way to tune a biz then?? there seems to be a twinn choke webber carb on the car at present, however there is no advance and retard pipe fitting

car runs ok, however has poor tick over sometimes. but flat out about 60mph

i have a sports exhaust from an aircooled 126, im looking at modifing to fit the biz, seems straightforward engouh anyone tried this before?

I have been told you can put bigger jets in the original carb?

Hi Joda welcome to the forum.
it should have a vacuum pipe connected to the vac' module on the distributor and then to the bottom of the carb, if there isn't this could be the trouble, bad performance and uneven tickover as it will not advance the timing and will be running weak due to sucking in air where it should be connected on the carb,

As for Tuning, in my opinion its not really worth the effort unless you want to spend a fortune to get a few extra horses, and make the engine even more unreliable, just make sure that everything is set to spec' and have fun driving it. :)

I wouldnt tune my engine even if it was cheap, I find it quite funny when people cathch up to me on the road when im cruising at lets say 50km/h, then they drive after me for a little while and flash at me a couple of times, and then drive past me staring at my wee car thinking thers something wrong with it, while im yust obeying the law....

(its kinda stupid I know, but I love to annoy people who want to drive fast, where they really shouldnt...  :D  :D  :smt075  :smt064 )

I really doubt that this wee engine can be tuned to make an serious impact on the performance of the car, and not make it any less relialable.

The only solution is to put in another, stronger engine (lets say a BIG BLOCK V8 Hemi  :D ) but this wouldnt be cheap, so this leaves us (well at least me  ) with the only solution---Leave it be...

But good luck if u decide to give it a try
(I wonder what would happen if u fit that NOS bottle in your 126, sure would be interesting  )

im sure the 126 engine would fair better than the vespa with the nos!!!

many people say the same about reliant engines, but they are ripe for tuning, so so much you can do to them to get loads more power

i will have a read around the web

doug i had a bis that ran up to 90+MPH until the floor pan started falling out!!!! i tried to kill the engine around the m25 but it just kept on going , i drove flat out from the uxbridge show to sittingbourne and stayed off the clock for the majority of the time. and i hadnt done much to the engine to get it to do it either.....i see you have got some fat boy arches for your car hope you use them wisely!! mick

funny you should mention carbon bonnet mick  lol

I shall get back to you on that one as soon as i know whats involved materials and time wise, I shall however be able to offer fibre glass ones i should think much cheeper i the main cost using carbon is the epoxy whereas fibreglass uses polyester resin instead

Joda

Sorry forgot to say I would got onto german ebay and pick up a nice free flow exhaust which will make the car sound and feel alot more responsive for only £65 or so, other thing i ran before changing over to twin carbs was i used the original carb cover top but fitted a pipercross ram pipe to it with a single filter sock and that with a free flow exhaust will do a good start after that yourinto head and valve work
