Hi Mick the problem isnt stiffer damping that would be a bonus. when you cut one coil of the standard spring using the standard shocks, when you tighten the top and bottom mount it does not compress the spring into the coil spring mounts, so if the rear wheels lift, the spring is loose and would fail an MOT, i think Stuey has cut 1.5 coils off so has no chance of pulling the spring onto there mounts so we are looking for a shocker thats about 2" shorter but the same lengh when compressed
