Hi...new to the forum (well...quite new)
« on: October 24, 2007, 08:17:49 AM »
Hi....
my name is George Serghiou and im participating here from Cyprus.
I belong to the Fiat 500 club in Cyprus( although not  aregistered club yet), and we also 'allow' 126s to the club !!!!

this is my second attempt to participate on the forum, as when i tried to register my email address the system said i was already registered...
so i remembered that i had already joined this forum to search for 126 info as my wife wanted a second car to her 500 D (1962 model)

so here i am again....

1 week ago  i bought a very scruffy 126 FSM for its engine and gearbox (i know i might get 'attacked' but the car is very bad;y gone for restoration (time and money wise)

my wife of course wants me to undertake the restoration of it....
so i thought it would be cheaper to find something less damaged to try and do up for her...

so yesterday i 'viewed' a 126 !!!

it turns out that its the earlier italian version (not chrome bumpers) it says PERSONAL 4 on the back...

bodywise its sound, only a couple of rust spots (that i migt even be ab;le to do myself) but very very dirty..... the cats mst have had a warm winter sleeping in it !!!!!!

so im on the journey of sorting this 126 and getting it on the road ...
i will post photos of it when i go to collect it and also keep you informed of my progress...(and ask for your help as well   )

So...that its for now....

Talk to you all soon !!!!
George

Welcome (back) on forum!

You've got nice collection of Fiats there    It looks like another 126 found a good home.

Cheers

reg the X....

I have soldl teh X 2 days ago....

but bought another one from ebay (82 model, orange-red, white seats !!!!)

Ill soon have my own Fiat stable !!!! (at teh moment 1962 500 D, 126 FSM for bits, and 126 P (italian) that i bought yesterday to sort out for my wife ) !!!!

Reg the 126 .... i bought it of an old lady....it a 77 model (i have photos to attach later when i go home)... it has its sins , some rusty bits here (nothing serious as far as i can see)and there....the inside needs a REALLY good clean as the passenger side window in not working, and the cats had a nice sleeping place

... engine turns ok, but did not start when i went to bring it home...i will try and give it a go today with fresh petrol, new sparks, new leads etc....

Start her up, check the brakes and try to get it MOT...then i need to re-register the car on the road as it has been written off( a car is 'written of' and needs to be reregistered if it has been standing for 3 years i.e no road tax was paid for the car for the last 3 years.... an extra process to get her on the road and legal again )....

Then try to strip as much as i can and sort out the cosmetic side of things whith a new paintjob in my shed !!!! the color is to be chosen by my wife but im quite keen on racing group 2 colour or someting racing-wild !!!! !!!!
Any ideas of photos of a nice race paintjob will be appreciated !!!!

Thanks,
George
