Suitable Alloy Wheel Donors?????
« on: August 28, 2007, 11:53:48 AM »
Hi all,
I am looking to change the rather plain looking steels for some alloy wheels, what car would be a suitable donor for alloys, either 13in or bigger? Also, pcd? would be helpful and how wide etc, thanks, ps was thinking fiat punto might fit? If not, there are a set of 1995 cinquecento sporting alloys locally going cheap.
Bigger isnt always better you know!!!!

PCD is 4 x 98mm.
Think Punto alloys may be too big,, but cinq and Seicento will fit.
As for swapping the engine and any other extensive mods, use the search facilitly to look over some previous threads on this topic as it is often discussed, but rarely carried out.

maximum width if correct offset which a cannot remember off hand would be 13 X 6.5 fitted with 175 X 50 X 13 tyres otherwise Cinq wheels with 155 X 55 X 13 will fit straight on.  so depends on the look you want but most Lancia, fiat, alfa wheels in 13" will bolt onto a 126 but you may need to use 10mm spacers on the back with some to clear the inner arch.  If you look in  the garage section you will see lots of 126's with differetn options of alloys, 126dave has nice Mag cromadora alloys, I have 6" speedlines on mine with 165x60x13" on currently but i have 6.5"x13" Braid Split rims with 175x50x13 A008 Yoko's to go on, So have a look see what you fancy.

cheers Doug

They look pretty cool! They are the same ones that I am chasing at the moment, might well go for them, I take it I need alloy wheel nuts?

These are the alloys I have for sale, the tyres are all brand new, you do need to use spacers on the rear to avoid fouling but they come with them and extra long wheel nuts!

I used the standard 126 wheels bolts, i got the cinc one with the wheels but they had the wrong thread.

the wheels fit straight on without spacers and the wheel bolts can be stood on to do them up so they should be safe. i believe a few others have used the standard bolts with alloys without problem.
