Hi all, Just bought another one after 10 years (Mad or what)

Hi all, just joined the forum.
I bought a 126 bis off Ebay, some of you may have seen it, it was the white one in Shropshire that sold for £560 (sorry if I outbid anyone!)   http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250104367145

The seller offered to put an MOT on it if it sold, which he did. The car had not gone anywhere for the last few years so how brave was I to drive it back 110 miles to Bradford. Did it make it? :|  Funnily enough it did without missing a beat, didn't overheat or trash it's head gasket! :smt041

First thing I did was strip and flush the cooling system, clean & test the thermostat (wife not too pleased about me using her best pan to boil it in) & re-fill with anti-freeze (50-50). Changed the oil & plugs and thats it, Brilliant. Going to do all the other bits when I get a minute.

It was bought for the wife's Birthday & she didn't know anything about it. I sneaked it into the garage from my mums house the night before her birthday. She loves it to bits and calls him Cecil

We've had two bis's before when we were younger (10 years ago!) and said we would have another one one day, so I'm very familiar with all their problems.

The biggest problem is debating who's going to drive Cecil he's so much fun! :smt052

The wife says it's a HIM! :evil: He's called Cecil  (If all Bis's were boys, they would never be troublesome). She drives it, I'm the poor person who has to fix it!

thats easily settled buy another one and drive in tandem , i do this with my wife around town sometimes and its so much quieter....
