Hi

If I fit one of these motorcycle air filters to my Bis like other owners have done, will it make much difference?

Great to here from people who have done this mod to see if it is worth doing.

it will sound louder and will make your pocket lighter, the gains on performance are argueable its your choice .

in theoray yes they should be better, their alot less restrictive than their standard counterparts meaning more air is drawn into the engine, but on a low tuned engine like the bis, you might not "feel" any differance, but in my opinion, its well worth having because there much better at filtering air particles than the standard ones, so looks after your motor better. i'm fitting one to mine, a k&n from a 2.0 marea that was on my last car

yeah i was wondering whether to put a performance air filter on my aircooled, the only other engine mod i currently have is a sport exhaust. wasnt sure if it would be worth it or not.

well,you guys,if you want to pep up the car you have to start some place,when i first got mine,i put a decent exhaust and aircleaner on,then i ran it on the best fuel i could get,with castrol valve master extra octane,i also advanced the timing as much as i could to help as well,keep the rest (points/oilchanges etc) in perfect order and you will see a small gain.
easy test,find a steep hill that taxes the standard car in second,then as you improve the breathing etc of car you will hopefully get to the point when it will ''rev out'' out in 2nd and you might grab 3rd.......after that it starts getting expensive for further power gains..................... :cool:

dont forget,the standard car wont even give the 23 whatever bhp if badly maintained eh??....perfect servicing (including greasing those rear hubs) will help make the car fly

Think i will do that then, maybe i can polish the ports and stuff too. stuff that doesnt cost much. still cant afford anything major (especially as i want to buy a bantam d1 or similar this summer to work on)

i took the air filter connection off today when i went to the shops to see if i noticed a difference. not really sure, think acceleration may have been a little improved. dont worry i have put it back on now. just need to know the best filter to fit (which isnt too pricey).
