Entry for those wishing to display their cars is via the old entrance before 11am and via the new mercedes entrance after that. I think its £9 or £10 to get in.

LOL, glad you enjoyed it  Its just a shame, how are we supposed to get the 126 noticed and the club taken seriously if the owners of 126s wont take them out  its been like it for years, the 500 owners travel hundreds of miles to events :???: people were saying to me, I havent seen one for years, they are so rare, I say no, theres loads in the club... so they ask where are they

members of the club don't expect to get wrapped over the knuckles for not turning up to a car show, everybodies situation is different. its not that we can't be bothered! but there are other factors that the above comments have not taken into account.
most members have family, work, morgages and other commitments. which are there priorities. car shows in my circumstances come down the bottom of the list, there's nothing i'd like better than to pack the car up on a friday and go off for the weekend to meet like minded enthusiasts, but in essence i can't afford to do that, and probably 95% of the guys on here can't either.

now now lets not get heated i understand its hard for some to get out due to costs time etc . but if its on your doorstep its like going down the shops .its putting a face to a car that is nice i enjoy meeting the owners. i want to arrange a barbie in the late summer i fully understand if members up north find it impossible to come thats fine . its why i posted a thread about setting up little regional cells a while ago that way  members get to know a few localish owners and if a bigger meet is arranged then can travel "ensemble" in a little convoy . i hope that this retro rides show is central enough for a good amount to turn up . i will have an 8 man tent the size of a house and all are welcome to kip in it if need be. i feel bad that i did not go to brooklands had it not been my sons first footie match i would have let my wife go own her own but i had to go as a good father. anyhow we must all meet up soon to go and give richard a kicking. richard its only a joke dont fret your action men are safe .

yeah but mick, its not just the once is it... 126 owners just cant seem to be bothered to get out and about. Its OK having little meets but if members never make an effort to get to the AutoItalia events and the like, how are we supposed to get noticed and attract new mebers and fans to our cars? I mean, 2 of the 3 cars present were on the 500 club stand, hardly inspiring is it?
Sometimes I wonder if its worth bothering, I drove a round trip of 175 miles that day and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, but its very lonesome being the only aircooled 126 amongst hundreds of cars!
Whats the point in siting at a computer typing about how you love the 126 and saying what you have done to them, only not to bring em out, its weird
I feel sorry for Chris and the club, he is let down all the time he plans something by apathy of members.
Sorry if its got anyones back up, but if you want to have a go, turn up at something and tell me (remember mick saying this once and it didnt work for him either!)
