how bout a old topic forum (how every you look at it)
so all the old and dated posts get moved to there insted of deleted
gives members a chane to catch up or newbies a place to have a read and even get some good little tips reading the old topics
just a small idea 
No threads are ever deleted, they are displayed in date order.
The older threads are then further down the pages or on the next page and so forth.
If an "old topic forum" was created it would soon fill up with a mixture of everything. It would also be a nightmare to moderate i.e each thread would have to be manually moved into the old topic section. :shock:
Don't forget you can use the search feature if you are after a particular keyword(s)
