Fiat Colour Codes

Came across this site the other day, maybe of some help if your looking for a 126 colour code. by the way the colour code sticker on the bis is located on the top left hand side on the reverse side of the bonnet.

Hello Pete126. I am looking for touch up paint for my cream 126 Bis which has the colour code 205. According to your chart is ivory meteor. I went to Halfords who can do touch up paints but according to them one of the ingredients (paint 003) that make up the 205 is no longer made due to its lead content. Is there another paint specialist that can still do 205?

I get mine from a local paint shop in Nuneaton,  Also had my car resprayed in 205 so it is readily availiable!

I would say that this is a tipical responce from halfrauds!

As ciaoflyer, If you go to an independent car paint supplier he should be able to match the paint, I'm lucky we have a guy who has been in business for over 30 years who mixes the standard colours the then spends time tinting the paint, so it matches exactly what's on the car after it has had years of weathering on the car.

Thanks for the link. I'll be doing a respray and found out that the colour 331 is called Salvia Green. So it's more of a mint green than olive green as i had always thought.

Thats a handy link, where do you guys get your cellulose paint from these days? or do you use 2pak?

2pak gives a better finish and more durable with less maintenance, you don't have to polish it every two weeks like cellulose

2 pack= paint with a chemical hardener
cellulouse= drys by solvent evaperation only

2 pack is the way to go but needs proper ventilation and air fed equipment to spray
celly can be used more safely in a diy enviroment but needs far more preperation and after care to acheive and keep the same results...(co it oxidises over time requiring repoling and cutting back)

(hence why i am now repainting my car in 2 pack...)

i thought they were doing away with cellulose i.e. banning it / phasing it out.

im planning to get a compressor so whenthe paint goes flat will respray

Where 500s and 126s orginally factory sprayed in cellulose??

I have got a small compressor sitting up in my shed. I did a job for a guy last year & as he was short of cash he gave me the compressor instead, £30 if anyone is interested  [-/

Trouble with 2 pak is one needs a special mark with an air supply is what I have been told as it is toxic
