I will be cutting up a scrapped bodyshell in the next couple of weeks :shock: . It's a late air cooled, and I will be keeping all the mechanicals, engine, gearbox etc. If anyone wants the whole body or any panels, they can have them for free. Otherwise they all go to the scrappy... :sad:

The bodyshell has a lightly dented roof (looks like someone stood on it, but would probably push out OK) and some rust in the sills. If anyone needs any bits, get in touch, or else I'll be putting stuff on ebay, and dumping them if nobody's interested.

I know your keeping the engine and gearbox, but does the handbrake, gearstick, pedals etc come under your mechanicals
i am after the running gear off a 126

Sorry - am keeping all that to build the blitz buggy.

The bodyshell also went to the scrappy today - so this free offer is now closed!

cheers mate. i hadn't seen the previous rant till you mentioned it, but hey, no offence taken.

i've taken an mot failure with dented panels all round and rotten sills, and taken the bits for my buggy off that. i've done my best here to give everything away for free that people wanted on this forum - just glad to help some of those people that have been so helpful when i've been lurking here. i'm pleased because a lot of the bits have gone to good use.

i'm building the buggy because i saw it as a good way to 'recycle' a car that would otherwise have been scapped as it really wasn't economical to repair it. i'm approaching the buggy project from this point of view, and would prefer to get a better mpg than performance!

i would have felt bad ripping up a perfectly decent car with plenty of life left in it. the rotten one i used was on the way out, so i don't feel guilty!

i'm a big fan of the 126 actually - lots of family history for me...

thats good, wing nut, make sure you post some of your pics up of the buggy, they look great fun.

Would also be great if you could bring it down to a show one day.
