Sorry its not a fiat

Talking to a retired mechanic and he introduced me to this wonderful engine, it was made by the old rootes company from 1954 to 1968. when chrysler took over the rootes group they dropped it.

its a 3cylinder 6piston 2stroke diesel and was used to power commer trucks, from only 3250cc it produced 90 bhp and at that time the conventional diesels used 8ltr engines to produce the same power.

Hope you find it interesting, i heard they were going to design a petrol engine using the same layout until it was dropped.

very interesting.....im sure there is another motor with the pistons set up like that.............
i like 2 stroke deisels..a sherman tank i once had the pleasure of driving had twin supercharged two stroke detroit diesels.......very nice indeed

i also find the w****el engine an amazing invention, im shocked its not used more, its much more reliable and efficient with less wear.

the w****le is good chris,but the rotor tips wear and are fkn expensive to replace...also,they suffer from higher fuel consumption..........a guy at work got shot of his new RX,,,,,he was struggling to get 15mpg in jersey with it.............

i find this stuff fascinating, maybe there would be less wear on the rotors using diesel (light oil)

mmnn yes,and as new materials come to be discovered/invented all sorts of older ideas will become practical again.....

most of the worlds ships use two stroke diesels, oh that reminds me, has any body got any big end shells to finish my project
