The "Key" to happiness
« on: February 01, 2007, 07:57:59 PM »
Hello there.  Can anyone help please? I have recently purchased a 500 with an FSM 126 motor. My dilemma is , the steering lock on my 500F has no key to activate it. Does anyone know where I can obtain this steering lock key? there appears to be numbers and markings on the barrel top which correspond to the key number. Am I right? I have put a posting on the 500 site but, as yet, had no replies

Have you tried contacting a locksmith, perhaps he can advise?
Does your old key fit? but does not turn to operate?

I would imagine the barrell number is also the key number as most older cars had that system. If so all you need to do is find a key cutter with the relevant codes. I once used that method to get a key for a 126, found a locksmith in yellow pages easily enough.

3 years ago a Fiat 133 owner had a similar problem so, on his behalf, I placed a post on a website to which Phil at Ricambio responded saying that he could solve the problem. Friend did not take any action and as far as I know the car is still sitting on his drive, keyless. Give Phil a ring.
