lost lights
« on: January 04, 2007, 04:49:34 PM »
it seems that the new year has brought the gremlins to me already. i have lost my headlights it started when i switched from main beam to full beam and then became no beam . i then lost my indicators for a while then they came back but work at whatever speed they like either very slow or disco stylee. i have now lost my window wipers which had an amazing burst of speed then went on strike after so much effort . this must be a bad earth surely? if not i think i shall rip out all of the loom and go solar powered!!!  help me its scary driving in the dark in the rain with no one knowing which way i shall go next!!!   :D

only thing i can suggest Mick, is check under the the fuse box, make sure all the terminals are tight and not corroded, check the multi connectors at the back of the dash, clean with wd40, see how you go.

dont worry about the stalk you can have it , i have taken the whole thing apart and re assembled after fixing the problem . it works fine now. my only advise is if you take it apart make sure you have plenty of patience!!
hope you have a good time at the show, i am going to look at another car this weekend so shall be busy. i will get back to you about when i am free to meet up . all the best mick

Hey Guys,

i still have the stalk sitting in the 126, as my car has still not come back from the body shop for its little repair job. The mechanic has had it over a week and is still working on it. Something tells me this is not going to be cheap!!!

So who wants the stalk? where shall it go?

Dom

Dom, its best he takes time over it, body work is an art,

im sure he'll do a good job.

is it the bloke you were telling us about doing the repairs? it was just that one wheel arch that needed doing if i remember correctly?

Hi Mick
Hope you are well.
I wonder if you please could help me again, I would like to find alloy wheels for my BIS but I don`t know what does fit without making any changes, i would like to know if there are any that we can just swap, tyres probably going wither 1 or 2 sizes, what do you think.
Kind regards.
Jorge
