yep ive read that on the back too, they are just covering themselves. its not all that hot at the sump bolt, I used araldite on my BIS sump bolt, but i must stress i didnt use araldite to hold the bolt in as such, its still had some thread but was just wasnt nipping up to the correct torque so i used plubers tape then araldite for peice of mind. No way am i saying plug the bolt in with araldite!
The araldite i put on was rock solid still after two trips from London - yorkshire (each time i changed the oil before i set off then slaped araldite on) and i ran the car most days for about 6 months like it. The aralidite is then easily chipped off. Its a perfect short term bodge if you dont want your engine blowing when your sump bolt drops out. (whilst doing 60 on the motorway!)
