Fan keeps running - battery flat
« on: October 04, 2006, 10:29:30 AM »
Tried to start my 126 BIS last week and it was completely dead.   Only thing of relevance I remember was the previous day when I took it out and parked it somewhere then returned 10 mins or so later it sounded like the fan (or something as it was not quite as loud as the fan normally is) was still running. Is it possible it kept running until the battery died? Any ideas why? Anyone know where to get a new battery off the shelf in the Aberdeen area?

Thoughts, ideas, greatly appreciated.

the fans do run after switch off sometimes, maybe your temp sensor forgot to switch it off?,best thing is to hard wire it to a seperate switch, your Bis will live longer that way :D

Thanks,

Think you are right - traced it to a switch screwed to the bottom of the fan housing. Looks like it is the one that keeps the fan going after the engine is switched off. I am guessing when it cools, the switch then turns off - stopping the fan. Anyone know where to get another one?

Barry
