Installed a Fan override switch - HURRAH!!
« on: September 09, 2006, 08:47:48 AM »
Hi

My Bis is now fixed, I disengaged the two stage fan and fitted a manual switch on the dash!!  Now my car never gets above half way on the temp gauge cos I just have the fan on all the time!  Thanks for everyones help on this problem.  Fuse has stopped blowing so I assume it was a dodgy 2 stage switch.

In reply to an earlier question, the bumpers are mounted on Skateboard stunt pegs that I got from my local tip for 20p!

Cheers

nice one,you have succesfully cured the Bis's only real problem........shame fiat did not come up with a fix instead of taking all the warrenty claims then binning the model.

i was also thinking of adding a second bis fan inside the motor compartment,on the top cover blowing down on the block......that idea never even got to the 'beer in hand lets have have a look' stage tho.........

the next thing to do is add a morris minor type electric fuel pump, then you can forget about the crappyone thats fitted,i've had 3 go just with the return spring rusting thro......both my aircooled and bis are electric now........again,they are controlled from the dash, get in,ignition on,fuel pump on,wait for the clicks to stop.then fire up,saves the churning of the motor to get 'juice' up after a layoff............
