Hi all, what a fab site, found it yesterday after looking at 126's on ebay.

My first car was a 126 in yellow - loved the little monkey, learnt to drive and took my test in it! Occasionally see it about but they've resprayed it red now :

Anyway, I'd love to get another BUT (there's always a but isn't there) I run a small mobile disco business on the side so currently have a van and wondered if there's a model of 126 that would be able to tow a small box trailer with my djing kit?

If it's not possible then I'll have to put the 126 buying on hold fro the time being as I simply cannot afford 2 vehicles.

any 126 would be capable of towing a small trailer, after all you can get them for pushbikes. A 126 bis may though give you enough room with the rear seats down as it has a hatch.

I have towed with a 126, not very quick but OK, just took the towbar off mine.

A 126 carries a fair amount, the front seat comes out very easily for more space.

Welcome to the forum, forget a trailer if you get a later 126 (BIS) which is a water colled model the rear seats fold down + you have a boot (hatchback) because the engine is under the floor!!!

I am assuming you had an aircooled 126 before?

No didn't have an aircooled before (how old do you think I am!!) Had a BIS and had the usual head gasket problems amongst many others. Used to drive with a bottle of water on the back seat to top it up with every now and again - even got stopped by the police for steam coming out the back of my car!!

Thanks for all your replies. I'd have to do some serious investigation as I'm a tad dubious that all the kit woudl fit - struggled in the back of a Micra. Thanks again for your replies!

aircooled were made until 2000 that makes you less than 6 years old

If you struggled in a micra don't even think of a 126.

Cheers Dajwid - Wasn't my intention to put kit in it anyway - originally thinking of the 126's towing ability.

And as you can tell, not up on the history of the car - just love the aesthetics and thier cheeky attitude

I have a small trailer and have towed it full of garden junk, no problems.
Don't expect any wheel spins though

Plenty of 126 here in Poland have tow bars, took mine of as my camper does all the towing now.
