Hello all,new to this forum and indeed 126 ownership, came across my 1987 aircooled 126 purely by chance,my brother who is a motor trade consultant had the car left on his land by a local car dealer,it had been standing 3 years!! I bought it for fifty pounds unseen!when I first looked at it I was smitten!!on closer inspection I discovered it had been fitted with 5 brand new tyres!!!the bodywork is good/excellent having been stored in a garage,I put a new battery on+fresh fuel and it fired up 1st turn of the key!!!it failed the mot on bad earths throwing the lights haywire,3 points for welding(minimal)and wiper blades not too bad at all,it appears to have been towed along behind a campervan as there is a front towing bar+electrics,I did wonder if it would increase the mileage being towed along??its reading 56000,the engine runs as it should for a 650 twin but as soon as its through the mot shall give it a service,I intend to remove the towing bar and bumpers and spray it in 2pack bright yellow(its currently a funny cross between purple and brown) :D

hi there Norman, congrats on your purchase, doesnt sound too bad for what you paid! So you are thinking of 2pk paint? Doing it yourself? I admire you if you do, ive heard alot of work goes into that but the finish is phenomenal.

the above pic is of a members 126, his name is Warren, just recently resprayed and i believe its 2pk.

i hope to see some pics of your 126

regards

Chris

hi Norman, nice find!,the milage would still rack up even when towed behind that camper.......there is a BIS locally in two pack yellow, looks fab, however, the paint seems to have given it a 'plastic' look......bluddy lovely tho!!!
