BIS - using a little coolant
« on: September 04, 2017, 01:12:43 PM »
Hi, I'm topping up the coolant a small amount now and again, so I'm wondering if the head gasket is on its way out. (oil & exhaust look okay, although clutch judders a bit on take up, can coolant get in there?).

Has anyone tried one of these kits, not sure if could fit it anyway due to the angle of the Bis filler.

or maybe stick a bottle of kalimex Kseal in as a preventative measure?

Thanks.

You should definitely check for leaks first. Have a look under the carpet below the heater and check the matrix under the bonnet. You could also try and give it a compression test too if you can to see if it's holding and equal pressure.

Never used the sealing stuff before but if it has blown - even slightly- then it usually means it'll just get worse no matter now much seal you put in so I'ld just slap a Jew one on :)
