Sadly I doubt I'll be able to visit this event, but if anyone is wondering about the museum itself, allow me to say that last year I visited Coventry for the first time in my life - having at one time been in sales covering the whole of the UK it's one of the few of our cities I had never been to before - and I have to say the museum is absolutely a must. It is - be aware - a Ronseal place: it is a COVENTRY - TRANSPORT museum. That is, it is not a museum of ALL transport that just happens to be in Coventry, but rather it is a museum of all aspects of transport that have 'happened' in the vicinity of Coventry.
Now since that's most of the "British" motor industry, there is a huge amount there, and with sponsorship from Jaguar some of the exhibits are absolutely mind-blowing. However, you will NOT find anything about Ford, (Dagenham, Liverpool) or Vauxhall (Luton) who were neither British firms nor based in Coventry. But you WILL find some astonishing land speed record breakers, and lots of detail about Humber, Triumph, Jaguar and other well known classic British names, as well as bikes and bicycles etc.
Plus, there is an excellent tea room/cafe (these things are important when you get to my age!) right next to the outside arena area, so if it's chilly or wet you can sit in the warm and dry with your cuppa whilst still admiring the vehicles on display outside.
Even if you can't make 14th, DO go to the museum if you get even half a chance!
