Steering stalks
« on: September 26, 2016, 06:35:55 PM »
I've always prefered the look of the later aircooled stalks to the original ones I currently have in my BIS.

My main beam lights have gone and I suspect the problem is with my stalk so my question is, if I need to replace the stalk, could I replace it with the 3 pronged aircooled version?

Can't see why not? I'm hoping to do the same to mine  ;) and I'm certain the connections are the same

Well it turns out my headlights aren't gone.. but really dim and slow.

The sidelights are instantaneous. I then press the light switch further and the main beams come on slowly and are very dim. Switch the stalk down to full beam works fine though.

Any suggestions?

this is one of my electrical issues i need to sort next

you can flash the headlights and its fine.....you can turn the headlights on but when you engage dim the headlights go off completely

can't find any connection issues so im guessing its the stalks aswell?

those black ones pictured above look much smarter too

I tried buying one from 126fan but they're out of stock right now, so I've tried buying one on Allegro (Polish eBay essentially)... hopefully the UK won't be a problem for the seller.

That's very strange? I'm sure mine was a plug and play job? Can't remember if I had to move one of the pins across but the plugs themselves were the same

Turns out amam has an early aircooled, so the wiring is different. Whereas in a BIS they're a straight plug-in-and-play setup.
