Speedo overlay
« on: June 30, 2016, 05:40:50 PM »
Anyone have a source of mph overlays for the speedo on an EL/ELX?

If it ain't broken, fix it anyway (just because).

They never made it for the UK market so a mph version doesn't exist.

Even if there was one, the trip counters would still be in km.

I think a Cinquecento speedo will swap straight in (but even if it's differently geared you could just swap the overlay).

I see what they have done, never realised cinquecento gauges were identical size. My speedo shows 70km/h at top, the cinquecento one has 80 km/h at top so would be a bit out (and odometer would still be in km)

You are right, it is a cinquecento speedo overlay and will not read the correct speed.

It could be that the Cinq speedo is differently geared so that you'd get the correct reading if you swap over the complete speedo rather than just the overlay.

There is a firm that will re-calibrate your speedo for you to read correctly.
Afterwards it will be more accurate than the standard one (which over-reads)
