It's not the carb size that matters, it's the jet

No they are different
I made that mistake. The aircooled one is at least one coil taller so when I fitted it the back end stuck right up in the air. I ended up cutting a coil out so it was the same height. That said it wasn't such a big deal doing it because I'm tuning harder shocks which made up for the softer spring

Hi, does that mean you can use the springs form a Bis to lower an air cooled?

I'm not sure
I think the reason for the difference is because maybe the aircooled was heavier? In theory the suspension geometry is the same so adding BIS springs shouldn't make it lower but maybe it'll make it firmer

I fitted this spring from Axel Gerstl to my Bis.
http://webshop.fiat500126.com/katalog/artikelinfo/1450/coil-spring-rear
The arse of the car sat right up in the air! Had to cut coils off to get it down.
So no, Aircooled and Bis springs are different.
I realised that if something says "Fits Fiat 126" then that implies Aircooled.
If its for your Bis then it needs to specifically say "suitable for Bis"

If BIS is lighter, wouldn't adding BIS springs to an aircooled make it
less
firm?
would be good if you could use them to lower the aircooled though
