Gearbox stiff after oil change
« on: February 14, 2016, 05:22:55 PM »
Hi all,

I recently changed my inner drive shaft boots and also the gearbox oil on my 1989 126p. But after the change the 'box seems to be rather stiff in the changing, especially when cold, something that wasn't a problem before. What can be the issue here? Is it possible to mess something up in the process of changing oil and boots that can cause such behaviour?

I used Millers Classic gearbox oil 90 GL1 which, as far as I know, should be the correct one.

Thanks in advance!

If the gearbox was working OK before it could be that the gearbox is misaligned, check the gearbox mounts are still serviceable ;)

But could it have been misaligned just suddenly liket that, during a simple oil and boot change?

If the case is misalignment, how do I solve this?
