? Knackered floorpan
« on: September 18, 2015, 10:24:04 AM »
Advice needed please:

Whilst whipping out my engine & gearbox, I decided to examine the extent of the corrosion on the underside. I realised that some welding had to be done, so over on her side she went.

On examination : see photos.

(I hope that this works)

Is my floorpan knackered, or is it possible to patch it up? It is only the forward two corners that are scuppered, as the rest is beautifully intact.

I thankyou in advance for your comments.

Looking at the photos and if, like you say the rest is intact, I would say patch it!

I'ld say patch as well, doesn't look too hard to do - a lot easier than replacing a floor imo

Thanks Chaps.

I shall round up a few slithers of metal, and get cracking.

Is the "stiffener" mentioned that short metal thing on the right, or the top hat" sectional piece on the left?

Respect.

It's the piece that goes from one chill to the other, both side should look the same.
