righto ....... went parkers with old brake line. asked the gimp behind the counter to make me a new peice using my old ends.. he replied " we dont use old ends you can have new ones" ...

i explained that he doesnt have any ends that match and he then went red in the face and went off and made me a length using my old ends...

i paid a whopping £10 for a length not even 3 metre long

still got back rooted it, tightened it... began bleeding .... Fook*n leaks..... leaks.... leaks....

any this time from a totally different place .... so i came to the conclusion the gimp at parkers hadnt flared the pipe correctly ..

i removed it and took it back ..... asked them to make me another . which they did, and then told me " we make loads of pipe and never had one back.. so it must be leaking from somewhere else"

i explained to the gimp . he was wrong and it was the pipe and nothing else ..

i then came home for the second time.. and rooted the pipe and began bleeding ..

with a one man brake kit ... this was ofcourse impossible .. so i will leave it till jamie the welder comes back and will see then.

just to say after reflaring the pipe it dosent seem to be leaking atall ..

richard you should have bought a flaring tool it would have worked out much cheaper for you. It's easy to make good flares after a bit of practice, and always handy for future jobs!

HELLO THERE PEEPS ...

RIGHT THIS IS WHERE I STAND WITH MY FIAT 500 BRAKES ...

IVE CHANGED THE FUEL LINES, AND BLEED NIPPLES . AND MASTER CYLINDER ..

NOW I AM ATTEMPTING TO BLEED UP THE SYSTEM ...

I HAVE NO LEAKS FROM WHAT I CAN SEE , BUT STILL A AWFUL LOT OF AIR FROM SOMEWHERE

AND THE PEDAL DOESNT GET HARDER ?

ANYBODY GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS

HAVE I MAYBE GOT DODGY WHEEL BRAKE CYLINDERS? BUT WOULDNT THEY LEAK ?? IF FAULTY

Ok Richard lets go back to basics and try this,sometimes have to do it on the jags.Fill the reservoir tp the top,then,open all the bleed nipples (put something under each wheel to catch fluid).What you do then is go into the house for half an hour (occasionally returning to top up the fluid) and have a cup of tea and a chocolate hob nob.Let gravity do the work.
