126 aircooled head
« on: May 23, 2016, 01:36:02 PM »
Are the 126 aircooled heads prone to oil leaking down the cylinder head studs from inside the rocker box?
There's no seal so its reliant on the mating face of the thrust washer on the head to seal the oil?

Also are there 2 types of seat for the pushrod tubes? The ones in the engine are only 2 or 3 mm thick and the ones in the seal kit are about double the thickness.

Answer yes they leak, Answer the think ones, ditch the others.
Hi, not been around for a while myself so hello to all those who remember me and hi to those who don,t.
Now your going to ask next by how much oil leaks and can there be a cure, what I've done over the years is put a very small under cut with a large drill into the cylinder head then on assembly fitted O rings under the washers you mentioned.

Good luck hope that helps. Smallcox
