Modded engine

Hi, I'm after a modified engine for the rally car. If you have anything or know of anything please carry on the thread. I have a watercooled BIS, but if an aircooled will fit the gearbox and other mods eg, mountings, are easy to change I'd be up for an aircooled. Cheers!

I dont think the aircooled engine will fit a BIS box but it may be possible to swap both engine and box for the aircooled ones athough you may aswell just buy a whole aircooled car if your going to do that.

The aircooled engine is easyer to tune and they come up on ebay quite frequantly.

The BIS engines are a nightmare reliability wise as im sure you know o this limits what can be done with them alot.

If you retain the bis engine you could start by fitting a better exhaust (may aswell be just a pipe if you rallying!). FIt a better carb and filter, maybe port the head and lighten the flywheel.
