Few years ago, the ceiling of my Fiat 126 Bis started to come down. Certain moment, while explaining this to someone, I tore a little crack in it. Whilst this was exactly hanging in my face and giving a lot of dust, I decided to put a new ceiling in it.
When I started cutting, I discovered there was a wooden plate underneath it, and what appeared to be the rest of some isolating fiber. Which gave a lot more dust
This is where the drivers seat was normally located. A looooooot of dust
At first, I was doing this very secure, slowly and making sure I did not break anything.
But that didn't take long, as I started pulling "a little heavier" towards the end
Which you can't actually see on this picture, but you can believe me when I say the ceiling did not had any plans in the direction of leaving the car, before I started pulling. Quite robust, I'd say.
But I won:
Now I could start the manufacturing of a new ceiling.
I added the tape, to make sure there was no trembling going on up there
While I'm not such a good craftsmen, I had to screw - unscrew most of these planks numerous times.
And then again.
For example: did you know you can never fit in that fifth one, if you don't unscrew the fourth and the middle one?
Try to put the screw in a nice straight line. By measuring and drawing a line, as some one said to me later, in stead of trying to do that with eye sight.
In a later stadium, I have changed the sun flaps (? ). In the future, I will add speakers to the ceiling too. And maybe some lights.
