Decals
« on: July 15, 2015, 11:49:15 PM »
I was thinking of having a batch of warning decals made and wondered if anyone else would be interested in a set
They are the ones positioned on the tailgate gas struts , radiator cap , under bonnet etc
I have photographed the originals on my spares car and before getting in touch with a manufacturer thought I would ask as it may bring the cost down

Be aware the original label supplier or (more likely) Fiat or the component maker themselves will own the copyright in such labels, so you may want to consider changing the style and/or wording and /or colours before sending anything to a potential supplier. Copyright infringement is unlikely to be a concern to private individuals, but an established commercial firm may be a tad more sensitive to the matter.

Two points occur to me: first is, warning and safety stickers are widely available commercially, and inevitably on eBay, so is there something off the shelf that might suit? (though I imagine you've checked this already)

and secondly, have you thought of contacting Fiat directly to see if they hold any NOS items? Alternatively, bodyshops might be a source, since they must replace labels appropriately when repairing crash damage.

This is just one of many suppliers, and they offer custom-worded versions as well as standards.

I have added location of decals and as there seems to be enough interest I will get a cost for them
Once my son returns from New Zealand on Saturday I will borrow his SLR camera and get some decent pictures

I have spoken to a local company who can make the decals although they aren't cheap
The design work is £40.00 plus VAT and a set of 6 decals will be £20 plus VAT

•   Graphics: Full colour digitally printed and laminated exterior grade vinyl
•   Gloss or Matt Finish: Gloss
•   Single or Double sided: Single
•   Fixings: Self adhesive
•   Holes: None
•   Location: Supply Only
•   Artwork: Not included.
•   Price: £20+VAT

I don't stand to make anything out of these and I will pay the design fee as I will be having a set made to finish off my car
