Frothy liquid coming out of the radiator filler

not creamy had gasket stuff
but more like soap suds frothy almost cuckoo spit when i did a ten mile journey temp guage at half way up scale

leaking when the cap is closed is it faulty / does it have a pressure release valve head gasket??
runs fine but fuel economy pretty poor i fink

108 miles per 13 liters fuel

its possible its got an airlock in there, go to your front compartment and there is a bleed valve on the heater matrix (little pipe with black cockstop), get a cup and open the cockstop dirty water will come out, pissibly with a bit of air too, REMEMBER: to use anti corrosion inhibitor antifree/summer coolant. Have you checked you thermostat recently? is it the orginal?

Also when you fill it up with water give the big thick pipe a squeeze so you can feel and pump water round a bit which makes sure thers no air lock, when ever i top water up i always bleed it off to make sure there isnt an airlock. Have you filled her up with water latley?

yer you are only getting half the miles out of your tank, very weird. Does the car smell fumey? Has the timing been set? recently? does it sem to run a bit fast?

Your backfiring is unburnt fuel reaching the exhaust - usually timing, but also can be dodgy ignition. I'd clean points, leads and plugs and reset timing and valves.

I make your mpg about 37-38mpg.

Might be worth getting the tank off and flushing it out - and repair the pick up if it knacked, and look for leaks.
