« on: August 31, 2014, 07:58:11 PM »
Hi guys ,

I ve been reading alot on this forum and it yas been a wealth of information
I m pretty sure some of you can help me out with the following

After replacing the clutch assembly i struggle alot to get it working after moving the adjustmentnut up and down for to.many times i stated thinking there might me a cable failure ,moving the pedal al the way down ony moves the cable about 1/2 inch

Only having some  cheap jackstands and no bridge or pit i crawled underneath the car to inspect the secretly hidden clutch cable .

I ve located it hidden between the fuell tank and the gearbox suspension but wasnt able to inspect even tried filming with my cell like a complete fool !

Can someone guide me trough the quickest way to replace this secret cable ?
Keep i  mind i only have some jackstands and ssta'dard equiptment

Thx in advancd

Hi it's really easy. First you undo the lock nut on the gearbox end of the cable and wind it off completely then pull the cable though the clutch arm. Then go under the car and unhook it from a clip on the gear box. Next go into the car and remove the plastic centre trim (the one around the handbrake) and then the metal cover at the front and also the one at the rear.

Next up unclip the cable from the pedal end by simply unhooking it from the top. Go back out side and pull the whole lot out from the back of the car.

To replace it just fit it in reverse order to how I've explained - insert the new one from the gearbox end through the hole in the body work and guide it though from inside the car hooking the cable hook on the pedal end and pushing the other end through the clutch arm then refit the lock nuts, interior covers and trims and re fixing the cable to the gearbox.

Then adjust the clutch pedal height by unscrewing the lock nut in or out to rise or lower the pedal to approximately 20mm below the brake pedal :)
