Bis Carb issues
« on: August 09, 2014, 07:51:17 PM »
Hi All
Our Bis polish carb has an issue  :( It started when the choke lever/cable wouldn`t return
I found that the cable cover clamping bolt had stripped it threads. So will need  a heli coil
Then I noticed this had came apart

Its some sort of diaphragm With a plunger that belong near the choke

The question is what does it do and where does the plunger connect to :(
Has anyone got a picture of a complete carb Please :) :)

Thank you
Pete

Hi All
As I have removed the carb I thought I`ll have ago refitting the broken/missing choke
activator
first remove the butterfly valves, then the shaft and if its still there the small brass end disc
remove the diaphragm/plunger on the side of the carb
make sure the choke activator is the correct way around "same as picture"
Then its a matter of sliding the activator up and pushing the butterfly valve shaft though ;)

I have cleaned and repaired the diaphragm "seems it just a push fit with a few punch marks holding
it at together

All done and screwed back on the carb "still not sure what it does :(

Cheers
Pete

Hi Cider,

I had to replace that choke mechanism for the butterfly valves to... Although I did have the car running great without it in the end lol.

I managed to source the whole assembly from a seller on Polish Allegro (but thats the only place in the world I managed to! lol).

I'm still wondering exactly how to setup this carb... perhaps I'll figure it out one day lol.

Hi
I think the choke parts where listed in fiat cinquecento 700 section on the polish allegro
our local fiat dealer was not helpful But a member on here point us in the right direction :D
We didn`t need to tune it sorry
Good luck on your quest

I've got it running great finally :) lol. Turns out that choke butterfly mechanism had became disconnected between fitting the carb and starting the car after rebuilding it. Doh! Fires up first turn of the key now perfect :).
